Resolutions 2021

Well FB discontinued notes so I’ll have to post them here from now on. I was able to recover quite a few years or resolutions. Maybe I’ll have to re-post them at a later time for fun.

The state of the world is somewhat reflected in the following resolutions. I wrote down a lot that are simply impossible (“Master <instrument>”) but as a life long artist I realize the enjoyment of pursuing an endless goal.

For reference, I completed 14/25 resolutions in 2020 which was pretty good considering the situation but I’m hoping for a higher count next year.

Resolutions 2021

• Master [the] Plan 

• Master the Alto Flute

  • Fluently transpose from concert to G

  • Build up muscle to increase endurance

• Master the Bass Clarinet

  • Become more comfortable in challenging keys

  • Improve low-range intonation

• Improve quality and viewer count of twitch streams

  • Get a better webcam

  • Optimize setup time/user interface for viewers

• Improve quality and reception of youtube videos

  • Better editing skills

  • Upload more frequently and consistently

• Get better at competing  

  • Learn to relax more under pressure

  • Make decisions faster

• Get better at dealing with defeat

  • Be less self-deprecating when I lose

  • Be more rational about how I can better prepare next time

• Seek freedom through discipline

  • Follow a moure routine schedule

  • Allow myself time to relax without focusing on a goal 24/7

• Seek mastery through simplicity

  • Minimize the amount of skills I practice

  • Commit more to the journey rather than the result

• Reconnect with people that have been pivotal in my life

• Take better care of my things

  • Instruments

  • Technology

• Take better care of my body

  • Eat better food

  • Lose covid weight
